Meaning of Bilge — The lowest part of a ship’s hull, where water and waste collect.

The Wordle today required turning my wheels a little more than usual. However, by the end of it, I had learned something new. Using my usual starting words, I got a green-tiled “L” and “I”. I also had a yellow “E” in the bag. POUCH was a no-show and I had to try my luck out with FILLE. This confirmed “E” as the ending letter. Trying BIBLE next confirmed “B” as the starting letter. Filling the gaps took a lot of time, but I eventually uncovered BILGE as the Wordle answer for the day. Phew.
